A Culinary Journey Through The Senses
Savour a dining experience where anything is possible. Royal Malewane celebrates the creativity and joy of food and wine through inventive, personalised menus that are designed and prepared in the kitchens at Malewane Lodge, Waterside, The Farmstead and Masiya’s Camp . No matter which lodge style you choose, each of the main dining areas at Royal Malewane overlooks a different bustling waterhole, resulting in some spectacular mealtime game viewings. All meals, local beverages and wines (excluding French Champagne) are included in our accommodation rates allowing guests to completely relax and enjoy the endless temptations available.

Fine Wines and Worldy Whiskies
Our expert sommelier has carefully curated an extensive wine list showcasing a wide variety of South Africa’s finest wines – from flagship red blends to boutique producers of lesser-known varietals. Select from the wine list or allow our trained wine stewards to guide you in a food and wine pairing. Royal Malewane offers one of the largest whisky selections of any safari lodge. Join our team of whisky enthusiasts for an informative tasting or simply kick back on the deck with your favourite tipple. We also have a fantastic selection of over 40 boutique gins on offer.

Kosher Dining
Some of our Royal Malewane lodges can accommodate kosher dining. Both Malewane Loge and Waterside have dedicated Beth Din-certified kosher kitchens. We also recommend booking both Farmstead and Farmhouse for a comprehensive kosher dining experience, or Africa House – which maintains strict kosher standards. For guests at Royal Malewane’s private villas, a mashgiach can be arranged to ensure kashrut standards (for an additional fee). We can also fly in pre-prepared kosher meals from a trusted supplier in Johannesburg. Kosher wines are available upon request to ensure our guests enjoy the full personalised dining experience at Royal Malewane.

Personalised Menus
Royal Malewane offers complete flexibility to our guests. We can tailor a menu to your personal tastes and dietary requirements in consultation with our Executive Chef. Whether you feel like a light salad by the pool in the privacy of your suite or a decadent six-course dinner paired with fine wines, the dining team at Royal Malewane will ensure that you are carefully looked after.

Bush Dinners
Bush Dinners bring a whole new meaning to “al fresco” and should not be missed. Feast under the stars, surrounded by the bustling wilderness, and comforted by the glow of lanterns and a crackling fire. The Bush Tent at Royal Malewane provides a feast in the heart of the bush. Where better to enjoy a nightcap than by the fireside under the stars as you recount the stories of the day?
